Jorge Esteves is Director of Infrastructure and Networks of the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) since 2004, with responsibilities in the sectors of electricity, natural gas and electric mobility.
He obtained the "Licenciatura", M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the Technical University of Lisbon, respectively, in 1983, 1986 and 1992.
Collaborates since 2005, as a representative of ERSE, in several working groups of CEER (Council of European Energy Regulators) and ACER (Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators).
He worked as a university professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico for 21 years,
where he served as Assistant Professor with Definitive Appointment until 2004. During that period he also worked as a Scientific Researcher at the Automation Center of the Technical University of Lisbon. Following a public competition, in early 2004, he took up the position of Coordinating Professor in the Departmental Area of Electrotechnical Engineering for Energy and Automation of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa.
Jorge Esteves is the author of more than 70 articles published in books, magazines and minutes of national and international conferences in the fields of electrical engineering and energy.
